Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from Kona. Your privacy is important to us and we are committed to protecting your personal information.

We only ask for personal information when we truly need it to provide a service to you.

We collect it by fair and lawful means, with your knowledge and consent. We also let you know why we're collecting it and how it will be used.

If you choose to use Kona, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy.

Information we collect and use:

We do not store your payment information.

Cookies and saved preferences

With your acceptance, Kona saves preferences such as your theme, language, calendar view, open tabs, and collapsed groups using cookies and browser local storage. Without acceptance, these preferences work for the current page but are not saved on your device. You can still choose a language using the page URL.

The kona-preferences-consent cookie remembers whether you accepted or declined preference storage for 365 days. This choice is shared between the Kona site and web app. The lang cookie, saved only after acceptance, remembers your language for 365 days. Other browser preferences remain until you clear them or withdraw acceptance. Authentication and storage needed to provide the service are separate from optional preferences.

Use “Cookie settings” on the site or in the web app to change your choice. Declining stops future preference writes and removes saved browser preferences on the current origin. Other open Kona pages apply that choice when you return to them. Settings saved to your account are separate from preferences stored on this device.

Site analytics

We use a self-hosted instance of Umami, a cookieless analytics tool, to understand page visits and interactions and improve the Kona site. It runs for visitors independently of their preference-storage choice.

Umami receives the page and referrer URL, browser, operating system, device type, approximate country, visit time, and interaction event names and labels configured by Kona. Umami uses an IP address and user-agent information to produce a session identifier; Kona does not use Umami to identify you or track you across websites.

Kona operates the analytics service on infrastructure provided by Railway. Analytics records are available to Kona and its hosting provider and are retained in our self-hosted Umami database until they are manually deleted. They are used for aggregate site measurement and improvement.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, so we advise reviewing it periodically. If you have questions about how we handle data and personal information, contact us ateden@kona.to.
